How do we react and respond? How do museums stay relevant to today’s visitors in the context of our changing and evolving world? As individuals, educators, and museum professionals we often have immediate reactions to events occurring throughout our communities and nation that require prompt, measured, and considered responses. As public entities, museums must acknowledge and balance competing concerns and ideas from visitors, leadership, boards and donors, institutional missions, trends in the broader field, current events, and emerging movements both local and national.
