Since 2000, ArtTable has conducted a fellowship program that addresses the marked lack of diversity in arts employment and offers a limited number of placements. The objective of ArtTable’s Diversity Fellowship Program is to provide quality experiences and mentorship for female graduate students from backgrounds generally underrepresented in the field to aid their transition from academic to professional careers. Through one-on-one mentoring relationships with ArtTable members, fellows have the opportunity to work with an established leader in the field and gain exposure to a range of professional activities. Each fellow will receive a $3,000 stipend for an eight week commitment. These positions are made possible thanks to funding from the Lenore G. Tawney Foundation, the Pierre and Tana Matisse Foundation, and ArtTable Members Lila Harnett, Catherine Hannah Behrend and Elaine Goldman.
